  16. This FYI RFC answers the question, "What is the Internet?" and is
  17. produced by the User Services Working Group (USWG) of the Internet
  18. Engineering Task Force (IETF).  Containing a modified chapter from Ed
  19. Krol's 1992 book, "The Whole Internet User's Guide and Catalog," the
  20. paper covers the Internet's definition, history, administration,
  21. protocols, financing, and current issues such as growth,
  22. commercialization, and privatization.  We would like to thank O'Reilly
  23. & Associates for permission to reprint the chapter for use in this FYI
  24. RFC.

  26. This memo provides information for the Internet community.  It does
  27. not specify an Internet standard.  Distribution of this memo is
  28. unlimited.
